Haskell Lake Passive

LOCATION : Lac du Flambeau, WI

PROJECT TYPE : Single Family

SIZE : 1,690 SF

AIR CHANGES PER HOUR: TBD

Surrounded by natural wetlands on three sides, and Haskell Lake on the other, it is hard to imagine a more picturesque setting than that of the Haskell Lake Passive House.

Designed by Sean Meyers Architect out of Madison, WI, and built by Sustainable Builders Group out of South Range, WI, the Haskell Lake Passive House showcases how a fusion of human ingenuity and the beauty of nature can result in a stunning masterpiece. Building in the demanding climate of upper Wisconsin presents a formidable challenge, where success is defined by the ability to outmaneuver nature. For this two-story, three-bedroom home, the remote location and ambitious energy-efficiency targets demanded a radical approach with an accelerated, high-performance solution: off-site construction.

Build SMART delivered.

Our precision-engineered 8" mechanically fastened EPS E-Wall panels were fabricated in a remarkable six days at our Lawrence, KS facility. This rapid turnaround, despite the project's more rigorous requirements, is a testament to the dependability of our system. Then, in a matter of days on-site, the entire structure was erected, achieving a full weather-tight envelope before the harsh winter could set in, eliminating costly weather delays. This is a strategic victory over time and elements, delivering a superior home with unparalleled speed. With the home still being finished as we post, updates will certainly be forthcoming!
